About Featherbow
Design and Ergonomics
Quality Materials
At Featherbow we believe in the time -honoured traditions of English cabinetmaking, a tradition where only the very best kiln-dried timber ,selected for the quality and conformity of its grain is used. All our drawers are made from hardwood with all the joints dovetailed. The doors are set into the frame, using the best quallity butt hinges, this demands much greater time and skill than doors which are flush mounted onto the carcase. A wide range of wood is used including oak, ash, teak ,elm, cherry, maple. We use tulipwood for painted kitchens. Work surfaces can be made from a variety of materials including granite, slate, marble and wood with traditional butchers' blocks being made from end grain maple. We like to hand-paint kitchen and bedroom units in-situ choosing from a wide range of colours and paints as agreed with the client.
